Builder Or Basher?

Subaru Brat Build

There are many ways to enjoy the hobby of RC (radio controlled) Cars. You might be a builder like my friend Sal. To him the countless hours customizing a paint job, or assembling the hundreds of parts required to build an RC car is enjoyable. It is a type of therapy for him. Besides that who wouldn't like some quiet time alone throughout the process of the build. To see the finished product and how a few cans of paint and a multitude of parts have come together to become one car. In Sal’s words “a work of art”.

Or you may be like myself. Heading outside with fully charged batteries. As many as I can carry. Off to the park, or the beach, or a parking lot. Everywhere and anywhere I can drive my cars. The term Basher would be used to describe the type of fun I have with RC cars. For me it is all about the experience of driving them. No worries about crashing, or broken parts. Whether I am at a skatepark jumping ramps, at a trail with a crawler, or pushing 60+ MPH on some fresh blacktop. Those are the places where I the Basher have my fun.

Broken Linkage

Then there are times when things break. Here comes Mr./Mrs. fix it. The person who enjoys figuring out what is wrong and fixing it. From stripped gears, to cracked drive shafts, to blown shocks. Having spare parts is a must. Getting that car back out there on the track, or the street, or wherever you drive is all the satisfaction you need as the tinkerer.

Above are a few ways to enjoy the hobby of RC. There are countless others. Some of you will love to do all of them.Whichever you do, have fun
